Moving the spare out of a Sprinter's interior gives back real floor area, and this van has the aftermarket to do it properly: rear-door carriers built on the door-frame systems, ladder-and-carrier combinations that share one set of mounting points, and the trash and storage bags that hang off a mounted spare afterward.
The door is the limit. Read the published hinge load and reinforcement requirements before hanging a full-size spare on a swinging panel, and confirm your door pressing and model year against the fitment. Figures come from the manufacturer documentation.
